Miscelaneous vet fees and insurance, a little confused :/?

I'm buying a horse- Before anybody comments 'you should know these things.. you're not ready for a horse' I've owned my own in the past, my parents have just paid for them. Now i can afford one myself i am working out the costs of everything and was a bit confused when it came to vet fees and insurance. I've taken the routine vetinary fees into consideration for example, annual vaccinations, dentist etc etc etc. I understand that insurance prices will differ, but i don't get it when people talk about Miscelaneous vet fees? I'm guessing if they were in the thousands, my insurance would cover it.. but how much can a vet fee cost that isn't covered by my insurance, i know it would differ depending on whats its for, but how much in general can a vet fee cost that wasnt covered by insurance? Can anybody tell me of a story when they've had to pay out a random vet fee, and how much it cost? Thankyouuuu :) any help will be reeally appreciated

i am currently insured and my policy expires on July 1st. I don't want my policy to renew so I called to tell them not to renew it. They said ok...and they wouldn't take out the June 1st payment. (I pay monthly). I just bought my new policy with a different company and I want that policy to start on June 31st. Got in an accident with no collision on my car insurance?

Car I've got; 1994 1.2 Corsa LS (5 door) --- Most of my friends have similarly old / small cars and are paying between 500 - 900 insurance. I'm keeping the car on my drive, and yet the cheapest I can find any insurance is with Direct Line (1,600) Why is my insurance nearly 3 times as expensive as theirs? :(

I was found at fault for two accidents (damage >$750) a couple years ago and also got ticketed for turning right on a red at a no right on red light. I just spoke with my car insurance company and was told that the accidents will remain on my record for 5 years. Is that true? I looked up the DMV code for California and it looks like the accidents are reportable for only 3 years (no one was hurt, no felony or criminal charges - these were small fender benders).
